3.5G (HSDPA)

High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, or HSDPA, provides the latest 3G level of technology, increasing maximum downlink bandwidth to either 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 or 14.0 Mbps. To achieve these wider bandwidths, a new transport layer channel has been introduced into the OSI stack, dubbed High-Speed Downlink Shared Channel, or HS-DSCH. To support this new transport layer, three new physical layer channels have been added.
